Online Counseling

I am excited to share that I am now offering online counseling services to anyone in Ohio. Research shows that online therapy can be as effective as face to face therapy.  Having done online therapy for two years for another organization, I believe it is a valuable and beneficial therapy tool.

Individual
Therapy

Individual therapy is a confidential therapy process where a person works one-on-one with a counselor in an effort to improve their overall well-being or challenging  life circumstances.

Couples
Therapy

Couples therapy is an interactive approach allowing a couple to gain a deeper understanding of one another and work to resolve difficulties within the relationship.

Family
Therapy

Family therapy focuses on reducing the current distress and improving the interactions between members of the family.  Communication and patterns of interaction are often the focus of this type of therapy.

Group Counseling

Group therapy is a type of therapy within a group setting (typically with six to eight individuals) which targets a specific issue such as depression, anger management, or coping skills.  Group therapy can be beneficial by receiving support from others, as well as gaining perspective in regard to your own struggles.

Therapy Sessions

You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

About me

Tara began her career in the counseling field in 1994 when she began working in an inpatient psychiatric facility. During this time, she began a master’s program in mental health counseling which she completed in 1997.   Following the completion of her degree, Tara began working in community service agencies in the Dayton, OH area working with teenagers, parents, and families where she gained valuable insight and experience from their willingness to share their stories and trust her to help them improve their lives.

In addition to a Masters Degree in mental health counseling, Tara also earned a Masters Degree in School Counseling in 2009 and has since been working in high schools to positively influence and assist teenagers and those who care about them.

Rates

The standard fee for individual, couples, or family counseling is $125.00 for the initial assessment (90 minutes) and $110 for standard sessions (50 minutes). Please contact me directly for group rates.  Prior to accepting any client, I conduct a free 10-20 minute phone interview with the prospective client(s).  This is to insure that my area of expertise could be of benefit to you.  My fee schedule can also be based on a sliding pay scale for clients in need.

Due to the rising cost and complexities of healthcare coverage, copays, and deductibles, I am not directly billing insurance at this time. I will be happy to provide a statement for you to submit to your insurance at your discretion. Costs of services can be applied to meeting your deductible or your out of network benefits for most insurance plans and your Health Savings Account can be used.

Services Available for:

  • Preteens/Tweens (11 to 13)

  • Adolescents / Teenagers (14 to19)

  • Adults

  • Elders (65+)

Tara has been absolutely amazing. In just the short time I have been in therapy, she has been able to see my issues, look for ways to help, and talk about a plan to get me back to finding myself. What a gift this is!
